About Me

My photo
I am a 29-ish yr old married mother of 8. My family is my life and I wouldn't have it any other way. My darling husband is my very best friend and together we are raising 8 of the best kids in the world! They are Rose(12) Sarah(12) Ammon(10) Malachi(8) Gabriel(7) Hannah(5) Maggie(4) and Abbie(3) We currently own 2 dogs, 1 bird, 5 chinchillas, 1,000,000 rabbits, 1 cat, 4.5 horses, and one ferret. We just purchased a home that is definately a "fixer-upper", with land and room for the kids to roam. Our goal is to run a mostly self sustaining farm and live in peace as we grow as a strong family unit. We have seen our fair share of hardships, but we are thankful for the many blessings the Lord gives us on a regular basis!

NOTE TO SELF...

It's Always important to remeber to leave your coconut cream pie where your little monkey can't reach it....

Or you might end up giving an unexpected bath!

She is so sweet... How could any one be upset with her! I made the mistake of walking away from my pie. Silly me, thinking it was safe on the table! Maggie has taken to climbing the backs of the chairs to get to what ever she wants! If there isn't a chair near by, no problem! She'll just move one! Next thing I know, she comes walking down the hallway growling very happily!

As always you made me laugh! The swing story was awesome i catch my children "helping out" by doing things like that a lot. As far as lying goes, we had a problem like that with one of ours but luckily it was short lived. Punishment was always consistant and immediate, and we enforced the rule that punishment for something wrong is always much worse if you lie about it. We also tried to emphasize there is no point in it because even if you get away with it now Heavenly Father knows you're lying and his punishments later are a lot worse than mom and dad's. When they are old enough to understand the atonement and crucifixion being able to emphasize Jesus' suffering for our sins and wrong doings and the reason we are able to repent can help change attitudes. Luckily our expierences with lying have been pretty short lived and seem to be one of those testing phases, like they just want to see what they can get away with and after a few weeks they realize they can't get away with it and gradually give it up. we also have some creative punishments for various "crimes". send me your email thru Cali and we can discuss it. For that matter send me your phone number I'd love to hear some of your ideas.
