It was too late to do any thing then so I tossed and turned all night imagining how it would be to tell Ammon the worst. I call my regular vet first thing in the morning. It turns out that they don't see exotic animals so they referred us to a VERY nice exotics specialist.
After a lot of crying we have decided that we will give her the chance. If she proves strong enough, she'll have the surgery; but if she doesn't, we are not going to prolong the inevitable.
I know this sounds a little odd but I am asking for prayers for Ammon's lizard (and quite possibly his best friend!)
If you can't find it in your heart to pray for a lizard. Please pray for Ammon instead. This girl is so much a part of our family that I can't imagine how he would take losing her.

Ok...first I don't think it is crazy to ask for prayers for Ammon or Oliva. That said, I will be praying for them. I feel that pets are a very important part of our lives, and Ammon is one of the most sensitive, caring people I know, so I know it will not be easy for him either way it goes. When you decide to tell him, let him know we're pulling for them too. Love you all!
I totally understand having a son be heart broken for a pet. It is very reasonable to ask for prayers for them both. We just lost our cat, Buddy, and that's how we ended up with our new dog. It's so sad and sweet how attached they get.
We are absolutely praying for Miss Olivia and your sweet Ammon! Heavenly Father is just as mindful of animals as He is people! We lost or cat to kidney failure, when I was in my early twenties! She was absolutely a part of our family! We will pray for healing for Olivia and we also pray for healing for Ammon, should Olivia be called home. You are in our thoughts and prayers, for sure!
We are hoping that Miss Olivia pulls through. Poor Ammon. :( Hopefully things will get better soon!
