About Me

My photo
I am a 29-ish yr old married mother of 8. My family is my life and I wouldn't have it any other way. My darling husband is my very best friend and together we are raising 8 of the best kids in the world! They are Rose(12) Sarah(12) Ammon(10) Malachi(8) Gabriel(7) Hannah(5) Maggie(4) and Abbie(3) We currently own 2 dogs, 1 bird, 5 chinchillas, 1,000,000 rabbits, 1 cat, 4.5 horses, and one ferret. We just purchased a home that is definately a "fixer-upper", with land and room for the kids to roam. Our goal is to run a mostly self sustaining farm and live in peace as we grow as a strong family unit. We have seen our fair share of hardships, but we are thankful for the many blessings the Lord gives us on a regular basis!

WE'RE BACK!!!!!!

For those of you who don't know we had a very unexpected trip to Indiana that was only supposed to last a week and then turned into three!!!!!! Imagine packing 9 children and 2 adults into a van with all their suitcases and bedding in less than 10 hours! It was followed up by the week long trip home with several detours along the way... Nauvoo, Will and Steph, and a very wet Colorado Springs!!!
John flew out to help me drive back with all of the kiddies so we tried to turn it into as much of a vacation as we could. Which, believe me, turning a 26 hour drive with 8 children into a vacation is no small feat!
Any way we're all back and settled in. School started bright and early Monday morning and choir and orchestra begins around the 25 of this month!
I have lots of stories that I hope to share about the trip but no time right now. I'll try a little later.
I had a lot of fun BUT...It's good to be home!

Did you all stay healthy after you left Kansas? I came down with what Ben had the next night and was worried about how your family was.

Hey! I tried to call you! Ammon got SOOOOO SICK. He puked more than I thought his little body could hold! Can I just say that I have never, in my life, littered on purpose... BUT, when you're on the side of the highway cleaning up and changing your 7-yr-old and you have a full grocery bag of puke you leave the bag behind!

I'm so glad you're back! And I'm SO sorry to hear about the sickness. Yuck. I've missed you in blogger world and can't wait to hear the stories. What on earth made you take such a long trip on such short notice? And why was it extended....whine whine whine. It sounds like you have stuff to do but I will be anxiously awaiting your intriguing blog entries.
