When I say that our family has needed some "alone" time. I mean it. We have been run ragged, and we haven't been out hiking as a family since sometime last spring! We have found ourselves in a rut of never ending school work, house work, and extra activities. We haven't been able to spend ANY time outside as a whole family for months!
Unexpectedly John suggested that we go to Tonto National Forest yesterday.
While we were there, the kids found Narnia! (See the following pictures for proof!) For the rest of the day they were searching for sentars and Aslan! (I have no idea if I spelled either of those correctly!)
All in all, the day was beautiful and the sun was shining! The kids were happy and Mommy and Daddy were able to connect with them in a way that we haven't in a looong time! I am so thankful that Heavenly Father gives us those wonderful moments to help us remember why we as parents do what we do! There is no better time than this and I want to treasure it forever!

I want to go there!!! How beautiful!!
BEAUTIFUL! Wish I was there, it is all cold and dreary here in Missouri
Wow! What a beautiful place! You are lucky to have something like that relatively close by and that you can go to in January. I can't wait for the early summer when we can get back out into the mountains.
You really DID find Narnia! Wow! I LOVE it up north! I hear ya' about the whole "drowning in a sea of shool work and house work", thing! Yikes! We should take some time to come up for air every now and then, too! What a great idea! The blessings of homeschooling are awesome! :0)
